Prerequisite: Minimum grade of C in READ 100 or satisfactory test score. This course will cover food borne diseases and illnesses transmitted by food and food handlers. Relationship of sanitary conditions in the preparation, storage, and service of food and the preservation of health. Laws and regulations of safety and the responsibility of the foodservice manager in upholding these health regulations. After completion of the course the student will be eligible to take and earn the National ServSafe certification. [Semesters Offered: Fall]
