Prerequisite: Minimum grade of C in BIOL 201 and HEED 101, concurrent enrollment allowed. This course focuses on the system of human disease and its effects on the human body. It emphasizes the disease process, basic concepts, terminology, prevention, etiology, signs and symptoms, diagnostic and treatment modalities and prognoses for the common diseases of the body systems. This course provides a basis of thinking for health information professions by providing a framework and foundation for the common diseases and their drug treatment. The emphasis of the Pharmacology topics will be on terminology, drug classifications, uses, side effects, interactions, in compatibilities and common dosages. [Semesters Offered: Winter]
