Prerequisite: Minimum grade of C in READ 100 and MATH 100P or satisfactory test scores. A laboratory-based course, specifically designed to aid students in developing a meaningful and functional understanding of key weather and climate concepts as well as their interrelationships. Activities provide students with an open-ended problem-solving environment that facilitates insight into the scientific phenomena related to weather and climate. Topics of study may include earth-sun relationships, heating the Earth's surface and atmosphere, moisture and atmospheric stability, forms of condensation and precipitation, air pressure and winds, weather patterns, weather phenomena, weather forecasting, world climates, and our changing climate.
