Presents an in-depth study of principles and theories related to infant and toddler development: approaches to developmentally appropriate practices, curriculum, and methods in infant and toddler classrooms; scheduling; space arrangement, use of materials, legal and ethical implications; administration in infant and toddler classrooms; communication with families; family day care and family child programs. Course includes lecture hours and field experience in an infant/toddler setting. Prerequisites: permission of the education advisor.
