To what extent can literature give accurate portrayals of individuals with markedly diverse experiences? Examining the works of Charlotte Perkins Gilman, Francis Parkman, Edmund Wilson, and Upton Sinclair, we will investigate questions of individualism and collectivism, art and propaganda.
