Topics include populism vs. modernism, nationalism vs. socialism, Literary Discussion of the 1920s, Stalinism, Glasnost, linguistic, and national identity. Focus on literature, film (Dovzhenko, Paradzhanov, Illienko), and theater (Kurbas); guest lectures on music and art.
