Awareness of public health issues in important to all students in their roles as educated citizens, regardless of their intended undergraduate majors. This course uses and interdisciplinary approach to explore historical context and current issues related to health protection in the United States. The focus is on the health of an entire community rather than on an individual or family. Students are introduced to national, state, and local health concerns identified in major students and reports. Field trips to public health sites may be scheduled.
