This course is designed to offer elemantary teachers a continuation of the work completed in Math Methods for Elementary Teachers I, to further develop the principles of mathematics education within the strands of algebra, geometry, and data analysis & probability. Focus will be upon integration of the content, teaching strategies and unique content knowledge for teaching necessary for the elementary teacher. Additionally, students will integrate and apply research-based processes to develop student learning including problem-solving, reasoning and proof, communication, connections, and representation. An associated field experience which exceeds state mandated hours is required. This course must be completed with a minimum grade of C (2.0) prior to student teaching.
