Students are provided with a ‘hands on’ understanding of methodological issues to become both intelligent consumers of social science research and competent producers of empirically based knowledge. The course moves through the research process covering hypothesis formulation, research design, data collection, measurement, and some fundamentals of statistical inference. Prereq: Admission to the PhD program in Design and Planning or permission of instructor.
