This course is designed to teach students advanced assessment, planning, contracting, and intervention knowledge and skills. Content on physical and mental disorders, help-seeking behaviors of populations-at-risk, psychopharmacology, research, ethics and values in direct practice will be covered. The major focus will be on interventions that integrate individuals and families to community-centered practice. African Americans and rural populations will be highlighted.
