Description:

This course is the third in the human behavior in the social environment sequence. While the ecological systems, and the biopsychosocial perspective are referenced constantly in SWK 501 and SWK 521 (Human behavior I and II), this course will focus on the impact of life in rural settings on diverse populations. Issues of race, gender, sexual orientation and populations-at-risk will be emphasized in the context of environmental obstacles and opportunities encountered by systems of different sizes .
