Description:
This course explores the artistic images which represent man, dieties, and idols in various cultures. The effect of mass media on images of popular culture will also be studied. Emphasis will be palced on the influence of visual imagery in developing a cultural pereception of man and gods. Students will examine images as a reflection of the society that produced them and relate them to cultural attitudes. Critical analysis of art works, research, and writing skills will emphasized.
