Description:

This course is designed for students with high intermediate to advanced English language skills who want to further develop their language abilities in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Since reading and vocabulary development are so important in advancing language skills, the class will examine a variety of written texts in order to build business vocabulary used in meetings, emails, and business reports, and the higher level vocabulary required to study in colleges and universities. Students will study grammar and sentence structure within the context of the writings not as a separate lesson. Time will be devoted to studying idiomatic expressions and common mistakes made in speaking English. Some time will be spent on accent reduction. The class will view and discuss the various internet resources available to English language learners, and students will learn study methods and strategies for learning English quickly.
