This course is designed to deepen elementary school teachers' knowledge, appreciation, and understanding of k-6 mathematics. Participants will use the NCTM Content and Process Strands as a vehicle for understanding what students need to know and be able to do in math. They will also investigate strategies for developing mathematical literacy, fostering logical thinking, and increasing student interest in the subject of mathematics. All modules will model research-based strategies for teaching mathematics and engage participants in discussion on the use of these strategies. No prerequisites.
