Junior level theory/clinical course concerned with mental health care of individuals, families, groups, and communities in both episodic and distributive settings. One focus is on nursing care that promotes mental health. A second is on the nursing care that assists persons experiencing disturbances in social and occupational functioning. The third focus is on nursing care that eases the impact of chronically ineffective behaviors. Current issues, trends, and research relevant to professional psychiatric nursing practice roles and mental health policy issues are addressed
