This course will present information about wine; its history, how it is made, the various types of grapes and regions, how to pair wine with food, and how to serve wine. The class will also cover beer styles. Through tastings, students will develop an appreciation of wines from all over the world and learn criteria by which wines are evaluated. In addition, they will learn principles of pairing food with wind and how to confidently select wines in retail or restaurant settings. 1.
