95% of individuals who lose weight will gain it back and then some within one year! Over 60% of adults are obese or overweight. Our children are not far behind. We have an obligation to not only take care of ourselves, but also to set an example and teach the next generation how to care for their bodies. Typical weight loss plans employ unrealistic and cookie-cutter programming that can result in feelings of deprivation, significant hunger, lethargy, and muscle loss. Weight loss does not have to be miserable, and it can be accomplished permanently with an individualized approach that incorporates education and learning specifically what your body needs. Topics covered in class include: practical aspects of nutrition, weight loss and fitness; understanding the building blocks of nutrition for successful weight loss and meal planning; eating out and weight loss; developing your mindset for permanent weight loss.
