This is an introductory seminar in farm energy auditing. It will teach you how to evaluate your energy use and eliminate waste. Students will learn how to use hand-held watt meters to measure the amount of energy that common appliances and motors use. The class will detail what farmers can do to save energy at low cost or no cost to what professionals should be hired to do. Energy savings topics will cover grain set-ups, livestock buildings, and the farmstead. Alternative energy options will also be discussed.
