In this four session class, you examine the background of a small piece of land on the eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea ¿ Palestine. The Hebrews migrated to this land in 17th Century B.C.E. until David and Solomon ruled an independent nation from the thirteenth until the tenth century B.C.E. From the eighth century B.C.E. until the first century C.E., the conquerors ¿ Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks and Romans ¿ came in successive waves, each leaving their mark. From the seventh to the tenth century, the battle between Islam and Christianity took place. And lastly, you focus on the background for the battle of a Jewish State and its reestablishment during in the 20th Century.
