This course introduces the student to the history of American Architecture, historic building materials, their historical importance and proper techniques of investigation and maintenance. An overview may include materials and techniques used to construct buildings from Colonial times to present. The impact of new technology, materials, and codes will be discussed. Students will have the opportunity to investigate a building and create a conditions assessment report. This course may require field trip(s). This course meets for three hours a session for 12 weeks.
