Students will learn the process of building decks and patios through explanation of available materials to build with and advantages of each. Students will observe a hands on approach to how a deck and patio are constructed, how they are supported, and how to protect them from the elements. Students will be introduced to mixing concrete and mortar, and the basics of building forms for concrete and framing with and cutting lumber. The Students will learn how to get started from drawing plans and estimating and obtaining materials to build with.
