This 4-part course looks at the period of British history around the time of the Norman Conquest, led by William, Duke of Normandy. Focusing particularly on the many royal figures ¿ English, French and others ¿ who had a stake in the outcome of the invasion, it explores many of the religious and social concerns of the medieval period, as well as issues that influenced consolidation by the Normans.
