This course is the first course in a three-semester sequence. This is a calculus-based approach to the physical principles required in engineering. This course emphasizes kinetics and kinematics of particles, Newton's Laws, systems of forces, work energy, power and momentum, rotational and oscillatory motion. Prerequisite: Successful completion of MTH 221 (Calculus 1) and high school physics or PHY 131 (General Physics I), or the permission of the instructor. 4 cr. 3 Lec. 3 Lab.
