This course is a study of the historical experience of women in America from the colonial period through modern times. Topics include the examination of women and work, education, legal and political status, religious movements, and social organizations, with attention to issues of age, class, race, power, sexuality, and regionalization as significant variables in women's experience. Pre or Co-Requisite: ENG 101 or equivalent. 3 cr. 3 lec. (Per Departmental Standards Version of HIS 217, approved by Academic Affairs on 4/26/2009).
