Examines Michelangelo’s life (1475-1564), which spanned the two most significant movements in early modern European history: Renaissance and Reformation. All of his work, artistic and literary, reflects these movements. By studying his life and work, one is able to acquire richer and more lasting insight into and appreciation of the Renaissance and the Reformation. Deals with philosophy, theology, architecture, art history, literature, and history. Prerequisites: SR ONLY Credit Hours: 4 General Education Code: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken an unlimited number of times, but only last course taken counts. Note: Effective Summer Quarter 2010-11 (June 2011) any non-repeatable course may be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
