Approaches agriculture through three disciplines: history, health, and environmental and plant biology, particularly as latter relates to growth of plants in soil. Historical development of current agricultural problems is examined, and practical, biologically based solutions are proposed. The relationship between soil infertility and the health and disease of animals and humans is also examined. Problems relating to Third World cultures are emphasized. Prerequisites: SR ONLY & 1 CRSE IN PBIO Credit Hours: 4 General Education Code: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken an unlimited number of times, but only last course taken counts. Note: Effective Summer Quarter 2010-11 (June 2011) any non-repeatable course may be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
