Introduces basic knowledge and techniques utilized in wilderness survival situations. Emphasis is placed on avoiding a survival situation, but will deal directly with mental and physical needs of the human body when placed in less than ideal scenarios in nature. Students can expect to take part in a contrived wilderness survival situation to practice and demonstrate the skills they gained. Prerequisites: REC 100 Credit Hours: 1 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Note: Effective Summer Quarter 2010-11 (June 2011) any non-repeatable course may be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
