Through reading primary texts and watching Chinese films, this course presents history and politics of modern and contemporary China in complex interaction with literature and art. This develops students' skills of processing primary materials through reading, listening, speaking and writing and promote their understanding of 20th century China. Students must have the language skills necessary to read primary texts and watch films in Chinese. Not open to first year students.
