This course examines adult health from a holistic caring framework utilizing the nursing process. Emphasis is placed on the knowledge and science of nursing as it applies to health promotion, disease prevention and health supporting activities. The impact of physiological and psychosocial concerns as related to actual or potential alterations in adult health is explored. Psychomotor laboratory and facilitated simulation experiences serve to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes inherent in the profession of nursing. Students work in concert with the clients to support their achievement of the highest level of wellness.
