This course will cover the mathematics utilized in the practice of pharmacy. The student will learn basic algebra to calculate dosage and dosage rates. These skills will parallel those used by pharmacists when compounding prescriptions, preparing parenteral solutions, preparing pediatric doses or special prescriptions for a patient receiving unique care. The exams in this course will be composed of prescription orders and clinical situations that reflect the practice of pharmacy in both institutional and community settings.
