Students will critique current work on motor control with an emphasis on applying motor control research to practice. The use of video cases and laboratory experiences will reinforce concepts. Each student will be responsible for teaching/presenting selected material and all students will be involved in the discussions. After critiquing the finding from the research, students will work with a selected client (e.g., pediatrics or adult) to improve motor control. Topics to include constraint-induced therapy, physical activity, posture and balance, assessments, reaction time, motor learning principles, timing and sequencing. Class will meet 4 hours weekly (plus outside practicum).
