The purpose of this advanced practice seminar is to increase the students' knowledge base and refine the clinical reasoning skills related to cognitive neurorehabilitation primarily although not exclusively, for adults who have sustained brain insults due to disease or trauma. Students are expected to use clinical thinking and clinical problem solving as active participants in the learning process. They will integrate information from their clinical experiences as well as enrich information learning through personal research, reading, group discussion, and community outreach. Topics of interest include the exploration of cognitive and perceptual assessments and treatment, as well as performance skills/patterns, areas of occupation, client factors, contexts, and specifically the psychosocial sequelae of approaches (FOR) in cognitive rehabilitation and case studies will enhance the learning process.
