Course introduces the foundations of discrete mathematics with applications to computer science. It provieds a basis in discrete mathematical structures and a rigorous introduction to the theoretical framework necessary for subsequent work in advanced discrete mathematics, theoru of computation, database design, compiler design, and other theoretically grounded computer science courses. Topics include functions and relations, propositional logic, Boolean algebra, graph theory and structures, and an introduction to proof techniques. Prerequisites: MAT221 and CSC351.
