PL&S 340 - International Leadership and Internship

Institution:
Milligan College
Subject:
Description:
An experience, under the auspices of the Council of Christian Colleges and Universities which provides students an opportunity for examination of other geographic and cultural regions of the world, in that region. The CCCU international programs include the following: Australia Studies Centre; China Studies Program; Latin American Studies Program; Middle East Studies Program; Russian Studies Program; Uganda Studies Program. This experiential semester allows the diversity of cultures and nationalities to be seen without the filters which are in place seeing the diversity through the eyes of others-the news media, the instructors' biases, parental thinking-or through the students' own preconceptions. This internship experience provides a forum to listen to persons of religious faiths, ecomonic and educational levels, as well as political and economic thinking different than those confronted in one's comfort zone in the USA. Offering to be arranged.
