Dementia: Caring and Coping Strategies explores common issues associated with dementia. This course will discuss the normal signs of aging and the difference between dementia and Alzheimer's disease. Strategies are presented to reduce internal and external stressors to minimize behavioral problems. Pharmacological treatments of depression in dementia are discussed. The course will conclude with a unique presentation to aid in understanding the effects of Alzheimer's disease on the individual and the families who travel this challenging path with them.
