This course will introduce international students to several of the distinctive aspects of U.S. law in the context of international business disputes litigated in U.S. courts. Focus of the course will be on civil litigation, the discovery process under the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, the use of expert witnesses by parties, class actions, the civil jury, and punitive damages.
