Examination of ethical issues in context of such topics as the relationship between church and state; the evolution of a totalitarian government into a democratic state; reproductive rights; the struggle against corruption in education, finance, police force; the role of censorship; views of citizenship, patriotism, valor, and treason; historical perspectives on prison camps, abuses of psychiatry.
