This course will introduce the students to the fundamental concepts and techniques of cell and molecular biology. Specifically, topics covered will include the molecular mechanisms essential for prokaryotic and eukaryotic physiology, organization and regular maintenance of cellular structure, transcriptional regulation, metabolism and energy, protein synthesis, regulatory pathways, cell-cell interactions, and cellular reproduction. Prerequisites: BIO 120/120L and EES 110, or BIO 121/121L, or permission of instructor.
