Introduction to microbiology from a marine perspective. Topics include microbial phylogeny, evolution, symbiosis, biotechnology, genomics, and ecology. Laboratory will employ modern molecular techniques to investigate the ecology and evolution of prokaryotic and eukaryotic microbes.
