In this seminar we will look at selected writings of Tertullian, Cyprian, and Augustine, as well as lesser known African Fathers. We will look at the African rite of Baptism, African Creeds, and African Church councils. Focusing on major theological, liturgical, and pastoral problems in the African church, we hope to gain an appreciation of the crucial role of the African church in the development of the church in the West.
