This course utilizes art historical methodologies as tools for critical inquiry and scholarly research on one American artist (selected as per this seminar¿s scheduling every four years). Apart from a firm biographical and art historical grasp of the specific American artist under investigation, the goal of this course is to develop visual literacy of American art through seeing and writing.
