Description:
Required for all freshman and transfer theatre pre-majors. Serves as an introduction to the process and principles of design. Particular attention is given to the practice of designers working in the performing arts. Introduces students to the concepts, terminology, and practice of designers. Explores the design process from text analysis through design development by incorporating lectures, readings, classroom activities, and projects. Students become comfortable with image manipulation and interpretation while gaining communication tools vital for working in a collaborative environment. Prerequisite(s): Theatre pre-major or major status.
