Enables students to reach intermediate mid language proficiency; to compare cultural ideas; and to analyze issues, problems, and practices of the native and target language groups. Students are required to communicate in Spanish on topics ranging from everyday life, family, and work to political, economic, and social questions affecting culture. Materials include literary and cultural texts, audiotapes, videotapes, films, art, and performances. Closed to native speakers of Spanish. Approved for University Studies (Explorations). Prerequisite(s): SOU Spanish Placement Level 6 or SPAN 202 .
