Students plan collection development to accommodate the needs of users, evaluate both internal holdings and external resources to select appropriate rosources, explore library classification systems and cataloging resources, evaluate automation resources and systems, and gain knowledge of community and global resources. This course addresses state competencies IIA, IIIB, IIIC, IIIIE, IIIF, IIIG in the category of collection management and organization.
