This course will examine the topic of gender - the behaviors and attitudes that relate to (but are not entirely congruent with) biological sex. A critical review of gender research is going to be at the center of this class. We will review empirical articles on sex, gender-related behaviors taken from the areas of psychology, sociology, biology, biochemistry, neurology, evolution, and anthropology to generate an overall picture of gender from a psychological perspective.
