Biblical roots, pacificism in the early Church, the medieval "peace of God," Reformation peace churches, and recent developments: the 20th century Catholic peace movement, official documents from Christian churches, and Christian leaders including Martin Luther King, Thomas Merton, and Dorothy Day. Non-violence is considered as both social action and spiritual discipline.
