Introduction to the field of bioinformatics and genome science. Lectures will discuss the pivotal role of bioinformatics in metabolizing the massive amounts of biological information generated from genome projects. Students will also have hands-on experiences of data mining, processing, and analysis, using computer software publically available or hand-coded by students. BIO 317 or IC.
