Prereq.: Six hours toward the survey-course requirement or its equivalent, or instructor's permission. The course will cover various genres of Greek Literature, including a close study of specific texts in translation. Topics to be covered will include epic and lyric poetry, tragic and comic drama, history, philosophy and oratory. Authors studied will include Homer, Pindar, Plato, and three major tragedians: Aristophanes, Thucydides, and Demosthenes.
