5502 Primary Care Adult and Geriatric Health (5-0) Adult and Geriatric Health is the didactic component of Adult and Geriatric Health Practicum. This course focuses on the management of both healthy adults and geriatric patients with acute and chronic illnesses in primary care settings. The course emphasizes screening for early detection of disease and family support roles in chronic illness. Emphasis is placed on common primary health problems of the adults and elderly adults. The delivery of culturally competent health care interventions for individuals living on the US-Mexico border is addressed. Corequisite: NURS 5302. Prerequisites: NURS 5303, 5319, and 5362 each with grades of ?B? or better and departmental approval.
