This course focuses on multifaceted roles of the professional nurse in advanced practice in a variety of clinical settings. The distinct and emerging roles of the clinical nurse specialist and the nurse practitioner are examined along with the legal and ethical implications of advanced practice. Prerequisite: NURS 5553 or NURS 5353 with a grade of B or higher; and departmental approval.
